When we remove a panel, we will temporary glaze with
obscure glass or timber, depending on the size of the panels. We will re-use
existing beading while re-fitting new or old work where suitable, or discuss
other requirements with you.
Most door panels are installed using tie-bars. Ties-bars are made from mild
steel, which give support to the panel every time the door is closed. It is
sometimes possible to install laminated safety glass in front of your stained
glass or leaded light panels offering security and protection at the same time.
All of these options will be discussed with you before any work commences.
In the case of removing a panel or installing new work we take every care in
limiting any damage to the door or window frames. However, as with any glazing
work, there will always be localised chipping to the paintwork which will need
to be made good. This is not included in our quotation.
